KPMG: Employees' salary must rise 6% with GST implementation

KUALA LUMPUR: KPMG Malaysia is urging both the public and private sectors to gradually increase the salaries of their employees following the imposition of the goods and services tax (GST) next April.

Newly-appointed Managing Partner Johan Idris suggested a 6% increase in employees salaries per annum to help tide over the high cost of living in Malaysia. 

"6% would be a good example to begin with especially after the GST implementation, new electric tariffs, petrol subsidy cuts and new toll rates," he told reporters after the launch of the second-edition of the 'Study on Non-Executive Directors 2013 - Profile and Pay' publication.

Johan said that the GST implementation was inevitable as Malaysia was a developing country. - Bernama

政府实行6%税务，本来是人民买单，现在有关人士提议公共私人企业老板应该提高员工们的薪水，让人民能‘与时并进’。

非常谢谢提议之人。

可是一口怨气还是不吐不快。

企业老板为什么要替人民买这6%的单呢？小老板也是在6%体制里的一体。

为了GST6%，购买软件请有经验的会计也都一笔钱了。加上2015年刚好‘难得’的油跌价马币跌，能维持生意继续留现有的员工都不容易了，还加薪？

我超级想知道企业老板有什么理由（好处）在这艰巨的今年加薪呢？（希望是我想太多。）
